AUTHOR'S NIGHT

Here's some food for thought...Each month we host an author (or authors) who speak about his/her book(s) and answer questions from the audience. The books are available for purchase that night, courtesy of Haley Booksellers.

Wednesday, March 21:  Alan Lightman

Novelist, essayest, physicist and educator Alan Lightman takes us into the world of Mr g, his playful and profound latest novel which is the story of Creation as told by God.

A distinguished physicist and accomplished novelist who is one of the few to straddle the sciences and humanities, Dr. Lightman is the author of several novels and scientific books & essays.  His first novel, the acclaimed Einstein's Dreams, has been called "a dazzling first novel...playful, poignant, intimate...cool, languid, intelligent and quotable."  Sunday Times (London)

Dr. Lightman published his first poems while a post-doc at Cornell and assistant professor of astronomy at Harvard.   As director of the Program in Writing and Humanistic Studies at MIT from 1991-1997, Dr. Lightman introduced the requirement that all undergraduates have course equivalents in writing or speaking for each of their four years.

Join us for what promises to be a lively evening with Dr. Lightman.

All Author's Nights begin at 6:00 and end at 7:30.  From 6:00 to 6:30 his books will be on sale courtesy of Haley Booksellers.  The talk begins promptly at 6:30.  Light antipasti will be served from 6-6:30, and a cash bar is available throughout the evening.
