February 9: The Noble Nebbiolo Grape from Piedmont
We can't think of a more romantic wine to begin celebrating Valentine's Day.
The Nebbiolo grape is considered by many to be Italy's finest contribution to winemaking. The big, bold Barolo (aka the "king" of Italian wines) and its counterpart, the softer, fruitier Barbaresco (its "queen") are perfect companions to the rich and hearty winter dishes we are serving.
We'll taste two of each: 2006 Barbaresco Bordini (Cogno), 2007 Barbaresco Torre (Produttori Del Barbaresco), 2007 Barolo (Cogno), 2006 Barolo Le Cinque Vigne (Damilano) and the 2007 Nebbiolo from Damilano.
6:30 - 7:30. $25. per person; light antipasto served.
